I remember" Mr. Moose!" He's was 1 of the "Stars" on my high school Basketball Team "Carver High". He was a fantastic player & person. RIP Moose!!!

I was a little child, and we had a game before Fortitudo vs Xerox Milan in Paladozza.
During the our half time I met Fessor in the dressing room and he touched me on the head...my stature was like his knees....

I was a kid when Fessor came in Italy to play for the team I was supporting.
He was a completely "new" player compared to the average american players that were coming to Italy and Europe at that time.
The look and the style of playing were a total change from the past, at his best he was unplayable for the opponents, he was offering dunks, blocked shots, dummies and moreoever he was also different in the look: afro hair, wrists band, coloured shoes, he was bringing with him tha american flavour.
I cried when the sad new of his death arrived and I still blame the decision of not renewing his contract for what has happened after in his tragic time in Switzerland.
He will always have a place in my heart, Fessor you were my idol!

I played with Fessor at Furman. During school before basketball practice began we used to play outside one-on-one. I'm 6'4" and he 7'1". Get the picture. Sweet touch for a big dude. Prince of a man and a tender, caring human being. Miss you big guy.

I'm too young to have seen Fessor play with our team, but his big heart and his great humanity are one of the symbols of our team (Fortitudo Bologna). Olds and Youngs remember his Afro Style, his smile and unfortunately his congenital sadness. But on the court he was a lion and an example for all in our little city. Fessor Leonard was our american dream in the 70's. Thank's for the attention. God Bless Fessor and God Bless Furman. With Love.

Fessor and I were friends at Furman. I remember him fondly as a gentle giant with an unassuming manner and a big heart. I called him Pro-fessor. See you on the other side, old friend.

I played with Fessor, who we called "Moose," in Lugano, Switzerland in '77-'78 for S. P. Federale. He had a huge heart and a gentle soul. I think of him often. He was taken from us far too soon. RIP, Moose.

I used to watch Fessor play with Clyde Mays, Jonathan Moore, etc. at Furman. I even filmed some 8mm at the Memorial Auditorium in Greenville. I'm thinking of naming a son after him. RIP
