RC first made a name for himself by verbally committing to play for something like five or six schools in HS. His mother reportedly set him straight and told him Purdue is where he was to go. He later made big new when, after being drafted #6 overall by Golden State, he measured out at only 6'8.5" tall, not the 6'10" that he's always been listed at. Very good player though.

A guy from the westside of the "CHI" and won the state. A true big man and was the first big man to win state. Manley High School. CITY guys. Thanks true big fellow. #1.

Russell was a "BEAST" in the "CHI" back in the day! I watched him "SNAP" downstate to win it all-state champs. GO CHI#1. 5-26-2011 that was me too.

Saw him play in HS on cable TV from a nearby state - they showed IL state finals in the higher classifications .

Russell was a beast at Manley High. I watched this guy down state play againt Uwe Blab in the state champ. He played out of control and won. I wanted this guy to attend Illnois.Russell was tp in the nation /state. How is this guy doing? What have u been doing since you left the N.B.A.Peace Russell. Hope all is well. Chicago #1

enjoyed watching him play for purdue,he will always be one of my favorites.
