Strengths: Decent athlete with an NBA ready body … Does a great job using his body to establish position on the blocks … Once there, Hendrix will use his broad shoulders to get wide enough to create a big target for teammates to pass into … Owns a unique pair of hands that are not only soft enough to catch passes without bobbling them, but also strong enough to hold the basketball without getting the ball slapped out of his hands … Great rebounder in his area as he reads where the ball will go quickly and demonstrates perfect technique in boxing out … Despite not having the prototypical power forward height, Hendrix’s tremendous wingspan allows him to play bigger than he is … Once in the lane he does a great job using his upper body strength to absorb and finish … This enables Hendrix to get to the free throw line at a great rate … Lost 15 pounds this past season which helped him gain better explosiveness around the basket … Hendrix does a great job out running his match-up for quick lay-ups in transition … Underrated passer who sees the floor with an unselfish demeanor … Fundamentally sound player armed with solid back to the basket skills … Offensively, he has a solid assortment of moves with a jump hook, turnaround jumper, spin moves, and a nice variety of head and shoulder fakes … Really enjoys mixing power and finesse moves to keep opposing defenders off balance … Fundamentally sound player with a good basketball IQ … Has the ability to block shots to a degree due in part to his wingspan and great timing … High character person off the court with a solid work ethic …

Weaknesses: Hendrix doesn’t have the NBA standard height for the power forward position as he measured in at 6-7 ½ in shoes at the Orlando pre-draft camp … To further compound issues his athleticism and explosiveness around the basket are solid, but not exceptional … Because of this he tends to struggle shooting over bigger defenders … Despite getting to the free throw line so frequently, he is a very poor free throw shooter … When defending in the post, quick post players can exploit his average foot speed to get pass him … When this happens Hendrix tries to recover, but usually results in quick fouls … Could really stand to expand his range out to 16 feet from the basket … While he does show signs at this range, Hendrix’s perimeter shooting is very inconsistent and it appears as though he lacks confidence in this skill as well … Other than using brute force in the paint, Hendrix lacks any real go to move … Lacks the lateral movement to be a real force as a help defender … Will struggle to rebound out of position in the NBA as his lack of length and athleticism will prevent this … The common perception of many is that Hendrix is near the ceiling of his potential …
