Oh yeah. Just one look at this cat’s double-digit rebound/scoring numbers and you can see that the ACC definitely was not ready for the “Kangaroo Kid,” a strong southpaw with serious hops who forged his aggressive style in Brooklyn during the Connie Hawkins/Roger Brown era. Cunningham was quick, crafty, and confident from mid-range on in; in the NBA, the 76ers would clear the side so he could take his guy to the hole or pull up for a short jumper. Probably would have been even more effective had he used his right hand more, but very effective nonetheless because he could really “go upstairs” and wasn't afraid of contact.
