2007 Pre-Draft Scouting Report by Matthew Maurer

Assets
Extremely mobile and athletic player … Runs the court like a guard and shows rare lateral quickness for a player his size … Fluent shot blocker capable of dominating the lane … Shows pro timing and great explosive leaping ability to continue this skill on the NBA level … Long arms and mobility allow him to be a solid help defender … Excellent out of position rebounder … Plays the game with raw aggression and passion … Underrated post passer who has little problems identifying open players … Keeps the ball high and has shown some ability to recognize double teams before they occur … Has worked greatly this past season on his post footwork and developing a decent hook shot in the post … Athletic ability allows him to be an excellent finisher around the basket … Is such an active and aggressive player that it is hard for opposing defenders not to foul him … Understands what his limitations are on the court and doesn’t exceed them … High character guy who has shown nothing but class on and off the court …

Liabilities
Lasme will turn 25 in December which makes it hard to gauge how much potential he has left … Body type suggests that he may have problems adding more weight to his body … Offensively his back to the basket skills are still in need of refinement ... Has problems setting up in the low post as he is often rooted out due to lack of body strength … Still learning the nuances of the game which really show up in his court awareness … Can play defense a little too aggressive, leading to him picking up quick fouls … Has some problems finishing after absorbing contact in the lane … Free throw shooting remains an issue … Must continue to improve on various fundamentals such as boxing out better on rebounds … Height will deter some interest as he is at the minimum size that the NBA looks for in power forwards … Has shown little ability to create off the dribble which likely rules out playing small forward … Needs to continue to expand his perimeter shooting as he shows some ability from 8-10 feet …
