2003 Scouting Report:

Strengths: An underrated athlete capable of making some impressive dunks in transition ... Has really worked on becoming a more consistent mid-range shooter... Above average perimeter defender... Hansen does a great job of staying in front his man ... Extremely mature player who brings a certain level of professionalism ... A gym rat who possesses the work ethic to improve ... Can create scoring opportunities off the dribble from the perimeter... When slashing to the basket he has the body strength needed to absorb contact and finish ... Athleticism enables him to gain a decent amount of rebounds despite often being out of position ... Has 3-point range on his shot to keep defenders from guarding his drive ... Does a wonderful job of shielding his defender with his body on his drives to the basket... Shows the competitiveness and toughness that coaches love and wont back down from anyone ... Defensively Hansen plays with an extraordinary level of intensity ... Has a solid understanding of the game in terms knowledge and fundamentals ... Ball handling has steadily improved to the point where he is now a threat to take his defender off the dribble ...

Weakness: Needs to continue to hone his perimeter jumper as it still goes through periods of streakiness ... Age could be a concern for some teams at 25 he will be viewed as a prospect with marginal potential... His high intensity level that he plays with can get him into foul trouble on defense due to over aggressiveness ... Needs to work on playing the passing lanes better to gain steals ... Ball handling while improved is still in need of refinement as he can be turnover prone at times ... Could stand to improve on his lateral quickness defensively ... Court vision is still a work in progress as he doesn't always look to set-up defenses ... Shot selection is questionable at times when the lane is congested ... Although a smart player Hansen needs to make better on the court decisions as he can play out of control at times ... Tends to let his emotions get the best of him ... While he has 3-point range he needs to develop better consistency ...
