2007 Pre-Draft Scouting Reporty by Matthew Maurer

Assets
Despite his stature Barac is a surprisingly solid perimeter shooter capable of extending out to the three point shot when left open … Has no problem playing on the high post with his ability to handle the ball … Great passer who is blessed with good court vision … Because of this it's not uncommon for him to recognize double teams before they happen … Solid finisher around the basket with good touch …. Has some shot blocking ability thanks to his length and timing … Moves well enough laterally to rotate over with some success as a help defender … Has the physical toughness to withstand contact and will not back down from a challenge … Possesses soft hands to catch most passes thrown into the post with few problems … Back to the basket moves are steadily developing where he shows some nice jump hooks and short turnaround jumpers … Post footwork is very efficient and is good enough to lessen the effects of his below average quickness …

Liabilities
Mobility issues will be a concern as he isn't a great runner of the court … Athleticism is below average but isn't as bad as some have remarked … Will not be the shot blocker in the NBA that he is in Europe because he lacks explosiveness … Doesn't always get himself wide in the open post which can complicate passes for guards getting him the ball … Struggles to defended athletic centers with good mobility … Barac will often be out of position and pick up fouls by trying to recover … Must get himself in better shape, conditioning and stamina need upgrading … Doesn't deny post position well, tends to let opposing centers set-up without much of a fight, possibly the result of needing to improve his upper body strength … A project who may need a few more years of international ball to develop …
