2007 Pre-Draft Scouting Report by Matthew Maurer

Assets
Will bring a winning attitude to any team that drafts him … Has that unique confidence in himself to rise to the moment no matter how he has played … Possesses legit NBA three range on his jumper that he can make with some regularity … Understands how to control the tempo of a game … Has the knowledge to run a fast break or half court offense with few glitches … Uses a nice change of speed dribble to create space from his defender … Solid free throw shooter … Unselfish passer who understands how to kick out to open shooters on the perimeter or dish off to big men when penetrating into the lane … Above average ball handler who does a solid job of handling defensive pressure … Aggressive when driving to the basket as he does a solid job of creating contact … Shows some defensive ability, does an admirable job of staying in front of his man while using his quick hands to cause some level of disruption … Understands what his strengths are as a player and rarely tries to exceed them …

Liabilities
While OK defensively, he may still struggle to guard athletic NBA point guards … Possesses only decent lateral quickness ...Doesn't have the long arms needed to disrupt passing lanes … Streaky shooter from the perimeter who has yet to be consistent … Settles far too much for the perimeter jumper instead of taking his man to the basket … Ball protection leaves a little to be desired as he is prone to turnovers … Doesn't have a great feel for the game where his decision making is concerned … Tends to gamble, reaches in for steals which can leave him vulnerable to getting burned by quicker guards … With three lottery prospects on his Florida team, one has to wonder if Green’s talent is a result of those around him or his own natural ability … Potential is limited with little room for vast growth … Intensity level on the defensive side of the ball is questionable, approaches this as a chore rather than a challenge to conquer … Athletically, many wonder if he’ll be able to match-up with the NBA's elite …
