2003 Scouting Report:

Strengths: Possesses an NBA ready body capable of taking the physical post play of the NBA ... Tremendously strong player able to get great position on the blocks ... Doesn't have many low post moves but does have a solid hook shot in the lane and a quick spin move ... Excellent rebounder who really does a great job of boxing his man out... Because of his upper body strength Uche is able to absorb contact and finish ... Mature player with a great work ethic ... Has improved in every aspect of his game each year... Takes little time to execute his post moves ... Owns a great set of strong hands capable of snaring offensive rebounds ... When you consider his size and strength he is a great runner of the floor... Plays every game with intensity and hustle ... Crashes the glass hard for offensive rebounds, where he gets a decent number of his shots on put-backs ... Shows surprisingly above average quickness and mobility in the lane ... Plays within himself and rarely tries to exceed his ability on the court ...

Weakness: Age will play a big role in where he goes in the draft... At 25, some may not view him with much potential... Lacks the explosiveness needed as a leaper to be a shot blocking presence in the NBA ... Post defense is solid but he still allows opposing forwards too much space on the block ... He will need to work on denying post position better... Must expand his shooting range out to 16 feet where he doesn't possess much consistency ... Gets a lot of free throw opportunities but because of his below average free throw shooting his isn't able to take full advantage ... Post footwork has improved but could still stand to be refined ... Has a tendency to play overaggressive defense leading him to pick up quick fouls ... Upgrade in his back to the basket moves is necessary as they are limited and predictable ... Puts the ball on the floor a little too much when in the low post... Double teams can disrupt him into turning the ball over...
