Dip and I grew up in The Oranges and played in Summer Leagues all around the County. We would always be on opposing teams whenever kids would choose sides...so I got to watch his high flying antics very early in his career. When I went to Blair Academy..we would only play during the Summers. RU coaches Dick Vitale and Bob Lloyd, had him speak to me on a college visit. he almost got me to go there except he forgot to tel me there was a talented point guard named eddie ( something haha!) coming to school there too . I went to Bucknell when recruited by a young Jimmy Valvano.... in hindsight, I missed out on "possibly " being on a Final Four Team's bench in 76 and sharing it with Dip honey Dip Dabney! A great ballplayer for sure....

Great basketball player who led East Orange HS to the State Group III Championship in '72 and helped lead Rutgers to the only Final Four appearance in its history in '76.
