2001 Scouting Report:

Strengths: Athletic and explosive leaping ability were often put on show in the form of an alley-oop or graceful lay-up ... Has numerous ways that he can score with either by moving without the ball or taking defenders off the dribble ... Excellent on the ball defender locked up Illinois guard Frank Williams and fellow draftee Jason Richardson of Michigan St. in this year's NCAA tournament ... Dynamic in the open court literary flies through the air ... Unlike many other high flyers Jefferson doesn't suffer in a half court offense thanks to his descent mid-range game ... Very quick off the floor making him a capable rebounder ... Moves well without the ball for easy lay-ups or coming off screens for jumps shots ... Has become a pretty good passer although not as good as other small forwards in the country ...

Weakness: Needs to work on the mechanics of his shot because he doesn't always have a consistent follow through ... Still learning how to shoot off the dribble .... Ball handling could use some improvement as he has a tendency to get careless with the ball ... Needs to learn how to play the passing lanes better so he can have easy steals ... Mid-range game while improved still isn't the best ... 3-point shot goes through periods when it's off and on...
